The International String Trio Competition Regensburg 2022 is a competition for professionally establishing ensembles. All nations' string trios (violin, viola, violoncello) are admitted.The competition is open to the public.

In view of the unpleasant developments of the COVID pandemic, also on an international scale, and the growing associated uncertainties with it, the Ernest Sauter Foundation – The String Trio in Modern Times has decided to postpone the International String Trio Competition announced for September 2022 in Regensburg until next year. This decision was not not taken lightly by the Foundation, but after weighing up the restrictions and risks that were once again emerging, it had no other choice. We ask for your understanding. The aim is now to hold the competition in Regensburg from 5 to 9 September 2023, provided that the external conditions can be met.The updated announcement will be made in autumn 2022.
